SB12 Annual Consent Form

During the 89th Texas Legislative Session, lawmakers passed Senate Bill 12, which requires schools to get annual parental consent before providing routine physical or mental health services. This includes things like first aid, short-term counseling, or social emotional support. To complete the consent form in Skyward:

  • Log into your Skyward Family Access account
  • Locate the 2025-26 Student Handbook Form
  • Indicate whether or not you consent.

Jennifer Williams

Meet the Director of Guidance and Counseling

I am Jennifer Williams-Bastidas, and I currently serve as the Director of Guidance and Counseling for Sheldon ISD. With over 20 years of experience in education, I have had the privilege of contributing to the growth and development of students in various capacities, including as a teacher, counselor, coordinator, and now as a director. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to supporting students' academic, personal, and career goals, guiding them from the classroom to graduation and into their post-secondary endeavors.

After graduating from C.E. King High School in 1999, I pursued an Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems from San Jacinto College North. I then transferred to the University of Houston-Downtown, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Following this, I taught for three years at Sheldon Intermediate and C.E. King Middle School while concurrently working toward my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Sam Houston State University.

For the past 14 years, I have had the honor of serving as a school counselor and advisor, a role I am deeply passionate about. I am committed to providing students with the guidance and support they need to navigate their educational journeys successfully.

As we embark on another school year, I look forward to continuing to support our students as they adjust to new challenges and work toward achieving their academic and personal goals.

Sincerely,

Sheldon ISD has adopted the Comprehensive Counseling & Guidance Program as recommended by the Texas Education Agency.

Lighting the way for a brighter future.
