Volleyball

WELCOME! 

At CE King High School, we have many opportunities for athletes that want to play volleyball, starting as young as elementary. Early exposure in the sport of volleyball is crucial in preparing athletes for success in middle school and high school. These are just a few of the opportunities that we have available to athletes in our district and beyond: 

Elementary athletes - We host an 16 week elementary volleyball program that includes 16 practices and 8 tournaments in the Winter and Spring. We host a 4-week Friday Evening June Volleyball program for athletes in K-6th grade. 

Middle School athletes - We hold Friday night practices for athletes in middle school and high school from November - May. We also host a Friday evening June volleyball program for athletes in middle school and high school, as well as offer strength training through our SPAT program all summer long. 

High School athletes - Being part of the volleyball program at CE King means that we are training during the fall season as well a the spring, essentially all school year. We also help and encourage players to play club volleyball. Our program athletes participate in our summer strength and conditioning program in June and July. 

Our goal at CE King High School is to provide all of our athletes with a high level volleyball experience, so that they are improving their skills, learning about the game, and having fun within a team setting while also being competitive.

Our Elementary Volleyball Program in Sheldon ISD is the only program of its kind in the Houston area that is not affiliated with any outside club volleyball entity. At CE King High School, we take pride in training our youngest athletes in the community, starting at 5 years old going up to the 6th grade. 

Our elementary program is open to players that live outside of SISD as well.

Each school year, players can sign up for either the winter session, spring session, or both sessions for a discounted rate. Players receive a t-shirt upon signing up that they wear to the tournaments. If athletes sign up for both training sessions, then they are getting 4 months of volleyball training - with one practice per week and one tournament per month. 

Three years ago at the program's inception we started with less than 10 athletes. Now, we have athletes coming to our elementary program from multiple schools in the area as well as within SISD, and we have more than 50 athletes in each session. 

Winter session January & February - 8 practices and 4 tournaments total (one tournament per month) 

Spring session April & May - 8 practice and 4 tournaments total (one tournament per month)
