We proudly feature Jahzeel Galvan, a proud Sheldon graduate from the Class of 2014! Jahzeel is currently making a difference as a surgical technologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
One of Jahzeel's favorite high school memories was being part of the extracurricular activities in AFJROTC, which played a big role in shaping her journey. She credits her favorite teachers, Sargent Brown and Sargent Haskins for helping shape her future and inspiring her along the way.

Roniesha Perkins
Meet Roniesha Perkins, a 2015 graduate of Sheldon ISD, whose journey is a testament to leadership, innovation, and perseverance! Currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on mentoring and coaching, Roniesha is revolutionizing education with her impactful teaching methods and initiatives. Beyond the classroom, she’s making waves as the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting doctoral students nationwide, with 61 members receiving guidance and resources to thrive.
Reflecting on her time in Sheldon ISD, Roniesha fondly remembers the support of her principals, teachers, and college and career staff, who made her education feel like home. Highlights of her high school journey include her involvement in Pantherettes, basketball, and choir, which helped shape her into the inspiring leader she is today.
Two influential teachers stand out in her story: Mr. Stephen Hudson whose transformative college tour to Atlanta ignited her passion for attending an HBCU. Mrs. Jennifer Alexander who empowered her to dream big and develop the confidence to pursue her goals. Her advice to students? "Dream big. Be ambitious and persistent. Surround yourself with people who share your dreams and strive to achieve every goal you set." Her favorite memories are while being a Sophomore and Junior years in choir, especially the unforgettable Atlanta trip that combined college tours, singing opportunities, and life-changing experiences.

Ana Alvarez West: Class of 2006
Ana Alvarez West
We’re excited to highlight Ana Alvarez West, a proud Sheldon ISD alumna who’s making waves in the world of academia! Ana is currently a Teaching Assistant and Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, where she works with the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation while pursuing her doctorate in Educational Psychology.
As a Teaching Assistant, Ana has supported several professors in teaching kinesiology courses. As a Teaching Fellow, she has led undergraduate classes such as Motor Development and Scientific Principles and Practices of Health-Related Fitness.
Reflecting on her time at Sheldon ISD, Ana fondly remembers starting school in the late 90s when new technologies like PowerPoint and computers were just beginning to be used in the classroom. One of her most memorable moments is dissecting cats in her senior year Anatomy and Physiology class!
Ana's favorite teacher was Ms. Eve Whiteside at C.E. King High School, whose biology lessons on cells left a lasting impression. We are so proud of Ana's journey and can’t wait to see her continued success!
Logan Ross: Class of 2016
Logan Ross
We feature Logan Ross, a 2016 graduate, who has turned his passion for agriculture into a rewarding career as an Agricultural Science teacher. Logan credits much of his success to the guidance and support of his favorite teacher, Lindsey Marek, as well as his dedicated FFA advisors Amanda Langley, Stephanie Jones, and Chris Jones. Each played a vital role in shaping his journey. Reflecting on his time as a student, Logan’s favorite memories come from the unforgettable trips he took with the FFA program, which helped fuel his love for agriculture and education.
Logan’s story is a testament to the power of mentorship and the lifelong impact of our educators. We’re honored to have been a part of his journey and look forward to the continued success he’ll inspire in his own students.
Anthony Galeano: Class of 2014
Anthony Galeano
We're honored to celebrate Sheldon ISD alum, Anthony Galeano! After graduating in 2014, Anthony dedicated nine years to active duty in the U.S. Army and now proudly serves as an Army Reservist and Asset Protection Associate. Currently studying for his Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice, Anthony is a 100% disabled veteran and a true example of resilience, commitment, and ambition. Reflecting on his journey, Anthony credits Sheldon ISD for shaping his future. He fondly recalls his time with the AFJROTC program and how his favorite teacher, Mr. Raymond Brown, inspired him and his fellow cadets. "Learning and growing alongside my fellow cadets under such impactful mentorship helped set my path forward." Anthony’s advice for aspiring military and asset protection professionals is to focus on developing leadership, physical fitness, and critical thinking, and seize opportunities to gain hands-on experience. Thank you, Anthony, for your service and for making Sheldon ISD proud!
Isaac Salene: Class of 2019
Isaac Salene
A proud Sheldon alum who now serves his community as a police officer!
He’s not just any officer—Isaac is currently an Unmanned Aerial Systems Operator (UAS - Drones) for the Arlington Police Department, an ancillary duty to his main patrol position! Isaac shares, “I was a part of the MECA Dual Credit Program and earned my associate's degree from San Jacinto College alongside my HS Diploma, giving me a massive 2-year head start into acquiring my bachelor’s degree.” His favorite teacher was Ms. Rosales, who made Pre-AP and AP Biology both enjoyable and insightful.
Isaac holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from SHSU and an Associate of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science from San Jac. His advice for those interested in this field. “Living a life of service is one of the most rewarding things you can do. It’s going to be worth the effort.” His favorite memory from CE King High School is the countless hours spent practicing and performing with the drumline and band!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our alum, Trayveon Williams, a 2016 graduate, and now a professional football running back for the Cincinnati Bengals!
Trayveon is living his dream every day, and he hasn’t forgotten the amazing teachers and supportive community that helped shape his journey. He often reflects on the impact of those who encouraged him to chase his goals, proving that hard work, determination, and a strong support system can take you anywhere.

Joshua Early
Joshua Early, who reflects on his time at Sheldon ISD, sharing how Sheldon ISD focus on student success has helped him navigate the challenges of college and the workforce. Joshua’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Byrd, who stood out for her innovative teaching methods, including using podcasts to inspire creative thinking among students. He fondly remembers the community’s unwavering support after Hurricane Harvey in 2017, a testament to the strong bonds within Sheldon ISD.
Lorelle Alvarado: Class of 2018
Lorelle Alvarado
Lorelle is now making a difference as a 5th-grade teacher, inspiring the next generation of learners. "What made my education unique was being able to take AP classes and OnRamps through UT at Austin. I developed great skills and a strong work ethic that I still use today as a teacher—and that I can pass on to my students." Lorelle also shared a heartfelt shoutout to her favorite teachers: "I had many teachers leave an impact on my life growing up in Sheldon ISD. Mrs. Mandella taught me perseverance and that I could accomplish anything, even in the darkest of times. She made me feel seen and truly cared for."Her advice to those considering a career in education:"There are many things said about the education field, but trust in yourself, lead with your heart, and you will be able to change lives."

Liliane Adames Montehermoso
Liliane Adames Montehermoso's journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to service and education. Her time in the Marines honed her sense of duty and discipline, qualities she carried with her as she transitioned into opening her own Early Learning Center. This endeavor not only showcases her passion for education but also her entrepreneurial spirit.
Transitioning to a role as a police officer for Pasadena ISD, Liliane's dedication to ensuring the safety of students and staff is truly commendable. Her unique background, blending military service, education, and law enforcement, brings a multifaceted perspective to her work. Her colleagues and the community view her as a trusted and respected member of the law enforcement team.
One teacher who truly inspired her was Sergeant Haskins. Her favorite memories from high school revolve around the friendships she made, many of whom she still cherishes to this day. When asked about advice for those interested in pursuing her career, she emphasized the importance of learning criminal law extensively and staying out of trouble. These words of wisdom have guided her throughout her journey in the field, shaping her into the successful professional she is today.
Through her continuous efforts and strong sense of duty, Liliane continues to have a positive impact on those around her. Her story serves as an inspiration for all who encounter it, highlighting the importance of service, education, and dedication in making a difference in the lives of others.
Lexus Thompson: Class of 2013

Meet Lexus Thompson, Director of Medical-Surgical Services, who's responsibilities include ensuring exceptional patient care and fostering the growth, development, and success of her nursing teams. During her time at C.E. King, she engaged in various organizations such as Pantherettes Colonel, PALS, National Honor Society, and UIL Teams, enhancing her leadership skills and teamwork. She fondly remembers her favorite teacher, Brooke Luther, who instilled qualities of confidence, resilience, and hard work in her. Lexus Thompson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Houston Baptist University and is a Certified Bariatric Nurse. Her advice for those entering this field is, "Enter with genuine passion and a desire to make a positive impact." Her most cherished memory is meeting her best friend and now husband, Travis Mason.

This spotlight is on Priscilla Galvan, a former Pantherette. Graduating in 2016, Priscilla has since embraced her passion for education as a PreK teacher, touching the lives of young minds every day.
But behind every great teacher is a mentor who inspired them to soar, and for Priscilla, that guiding light is none other than Ms. Brooke Luther. Ms. Luther wasn't just a teacher; she was a lifelong mentor and friend, shaping Priscilla's journey and becoming an integral part of her family.
Reflecting on her time at Sheldon, Priscilla shares that being a Pantherette wasn't just about dance routines; it was about growth and leadership. She is enjoying the opportunity to teach former teachers, admin, or staff’s children. "It feels like a full circle moment. Having them trust me to teach their child makes me feel good."Priscilla's advice for aspiring educators is pure gold: immerse yourself in experiences with children, whether through volunteering, summer camps, or programs like PALS. Because it's those moments that shape not just the students we teach but also the teachers we become.
Kassandra Salazar: Class of 2015

Meet King High School alumni Kassandra Salazar. Kassandra's journey from King High School to becoming a Registered Nurse is truly inspiring. Her dedication to advocating for others and providing care shines through her work. With her impressive certifications and licenses, she continues to make a positive impact in the healthcare field.
Her advice to not compare oneself to others and to work at one's own pace is a valuable reminder for anyone pursuing their dreams. It's important to stay true to oneself and focus on personal growth without feeling pressured by external expectations.
The support system of friends and teachers that surrounded Kassandra during her high school years were a significant role in shaping her into the compassionate and resilient individual she is today. These fond memories serve as a reminder of the importance of having a strong community to lean on during life's journey.

Jeremy Whistler
He graduated in '94 from C.E. King High School and now excelling as an Engineering Consultant/Business Owner! Specializing in electrical engineering solutions, including PLC's, HMI, and robotics programming. He says "..CE King was more than a school; it was family!
Some of his favorite teachers: Mrs. Claudia Lamascus,Mr. Smith,Mrs. Cabness, Mrs. Robertson, Mrs. Darby, Mr. Jones, Mr. "G", Mrs. Baccigalopi, Mr. Sylvester, and many more who left lasting impressions! Favorite memory? A thrilling band trip to Schlitterbahn Park! His advice for aspiring engineers? Start at a Tech School!
