Sheldon ISD AP Scholars Surprised with Yard Signs

On November 3, Sheldon ISD administration surprised students with yard signs signifying their status as College Board AP Scholars. For 2023, Sheldon ISD has 25 AP Scholars and one AP Scholar with Honors, setting a new district record in total number of AP Scholars. To qualify as an AP Scholar, students must pass three advanced placement exams with a 3 or higher, earning college credit. To be eligible for an AP Scholar with Honors, a student must pass at least 4 advanced placement exams and maintain a cumulative average of at least a 3.25 on all exams taken. 

 

Of the 26 students, three are from the STEM Academy and 23 are from the Early College High School. Across the world, less than five percent of all students taking advanced placement receive this honor and less than one percent receive the AP Scholar with Honors.
