AVID Reader is a competition focused on fostering the love of reading, and encouraging deeper connections within the text. Students in grades K-2 are tasked with reading 30 age appropriate books, while 3rd grade students are responsible for reading 20 chapter books. During the competition, teams of students are then responsible for answering questions pertaining to these books. This could be in the form of a direct quote, pictorial clues, or even brief summaries about the book.
