King High School valedictorian Andrea Fuentes has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academics and excellence in the classroom. Fuentes can be described as friendly, thoughtful, and laser-focused on her dreams. Andrea is the daughter of Reina and Miguel Fuentes. While at King High School, she was an Early College High School ambassador, a member of the orchestra, color guard, student council, and National Honors Society. She is an AP Scholar with Honors and has earned her associates degree from San Jacinto College. She is a member of the National Hispanic Recognition Program. Fuentes will be attending The University of Texas at Austin to study social work. She has been awarded over $140,000 in scholarship awards and is also a finalist for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
King High School salutatorian Jose Torres has demonstrated dedication to academics and has excelled in the classroom. He is also a leader who has shown kindness, compassion, and care for others during his time in Early College High School. His perseverance through trials and his tenacity have brought him to this place today. He is the son of Maria and Guillermo Torres. While at King High School, he was an ECHS ambassador, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the Historical Society. Torres has earned his associates degree from San Jacinto College and will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the School of Informatics. He was also awarded the Dell Scholarship, making him a proud Dell Scholar.
