Sheldon names Jumana Mills principal of KASE Academy

In her 12 years as an educator at C.E. King High School, Mrs. Jumana Mills has served teachers, students, and parents in multiple capacities. She began her work as a teacher and later served as a counselor and MED Academy Principal before assuming her current role as associate principal of operations and student services. Mrs. Mills earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science and a Master's degree in Education and School Counseling from Lamar University. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. 

“I believe that all children have the ability to be successful,” said Mrs. Mills. “I am looking forward to creating partnerships with our KASE Academy community to build upon the positive environment established that will have a lasting impact on our students’ learning and their personal growth.”

A native Houstonian, Mrs. Mills’ personal experiences and challenges as a young student motivated her to beat the odds and to become an example for others. Mrs. Mills will begin her new role as principal with the 2022-23 school year.
