Sheldon advances 8 student artwork in Houston Livestock and Rodeo Art Competition

School districts across the Houston area compete for a spot in the gallery and are judged by a panel. Sheldon ISD advanced eight students, including three best of show,  in the Rodeo Art Competition and their work will be displayed in the Houston Rodeo this February. 

The following were selected:

Elementary Best of Show: Cleto Sosa-Tamez, Royalwood Elementary fourth grade, Teacher: Shelby Flowers

Elementary Gold Medal: Angel Carillo, Sheldon Elementary third grade, Teacher: Alde Christopher

Junior High Best of Show: Danna Basilio, Null Middle School seventh grade, Teacher: Destiny Barr

Junior High Gold Medal: Roxanne Jimenez, Null Middle School eighth grade, Teacher: Quentin Cleaves

High School Best of Show: Zoe Quiroga, King High School tenth grade, Teacher: Leslie Roades

High School Gold Medals: Monica Arceo, King High School eleventh grade, Teacher: Leslie Roades and Carolina Varela, King High School tenth grade, Teacher: Emily Roberts

High School Special Merit: Bianca Marin, King High School ninth grade, Teacher: Leslie Roades
