Sheldon ISD names Executive Director of Special Education

Mrs. Brooke Douget’s interest in serving students began when she had the opportunity to work as an eight-grade student assistant in a self-contained life skills classroom. She later began her educational career as a special education teacher and transitioned to roles that allowed her to share her passion for teaching and learning in a larger way, for example, serving surrounding districts in expanding special education programming into more inclusive and supportive places to learn in New Caney ISD as Special Education Manager of Compliance & Software, Dayton ISD as Special Education Compliance Coordinator, Texas Education Agency as Special Education Escalation Specialist, and most recently Mrs. Douget served Goose Creek Consolidated ISD in the role of Special Education Coordinator of Assessment.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead the special education department in ensuring all students with unique learning needs, learn and grow into knowledgeable, skilled and confident members of the community,” said Mrs. Douget.

Mrs. Douget will join the Sheldon ISD team in May.
