On September 9, Sheldon ISD hosted its fourth annual Blue Card Luncheon, celebrating community members 65 years and older who are part of the district’s Blue Card program. Membership is open to Sheldon ISD residents in this age group and offers benefits such as free admission to all home sporting events and fine arts performances, in addition to the annual luncheon.

This year’s event featured a presentation from Superintendent Dr. Demetrius McCall and live performances from King High School, King Middle School, and Null Middle School fine arts students.

“The Blue Card program has quickly become a meaningful tradition since its start in 2021,” said Executive Director of Communications Emily Conklin, APR. “It’s our way of saying thank you to the seniors who continue to support our schools. Many are grandparents of current students, and some are even proud King High School alumni.”

Today, Sheldon ISD has more than 150 Blue Card members. Residents 65 and older who wish to join can sign up by visiting the “Community” tab on our website.
