Sheldon ISD Appoints Tacarra Williams as Executive Director of Communications and Community Partnerships

Sheldon Independent School District has named Mrs. Tacarra Williams as its new Executive Director of Communications and Community Partnerships. Mrs. Williams succeeds Mrs. Emily Conklin, who was recently appointed Chief Community Engagement Officer for Humble ISD.

Mrs. Williams has served Sheldon ISD since 2019 and is currently the Director of Federal Programs and Grants. She previously led Garrett Elementary School as principal for four years and brings 15 years of experience in public education to her new role.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and two master’s degrees—Educational Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce and Business Administration from Texas Southern University. Mrs. Williams is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

“I am excited to transition into this role,” Williams said. “I am deeply passionate about the Sheldon ISD community and look forward to continuing our commitment to transparent communication and meaningful community engagement.”

In her new role, Mrs. Williams will oversee the Communications Department, the Sheldon ISD Education Foundation, and all community partnership initiatives. She will begin her position on January 5.
