Sheldon ISD Announces New Executive Directors of School Leadership

As we prepare for a successful upcoming school year, Sheldon ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of three internal leaders their new positions.

Mr. Roberto Gonzalez, Executive Director of School Leadership secondary campuses

Roberto Gonzalez has been named the Executive Director of School Leadership for secondary campuses in Sheldon ISD, a leadership role built on his legacy of dedicated service and instructional excellence within the district. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Gonzalez served as associate principal of C.E. King High School and principal of Michael R. Null Middle School, where his student-centered leadership and commitment to academics earned him the distinction of 2025–2026 Sheldon ISD Secondary Principal of the Year. Under his leadership, Null Middle School was recognized as an AVID Demonstration School, reflecting the campus's strong culture of college and career readiness, high-quality instruction, and continuous improvement. Throughout his career, Mr. Gonzalez has demonstrated a passion for developing teachers, empowering campus leaders, and creating learning environments where students thrive. In his new role, he will support secondary campus leaders while advancing student achievement across Sheldon ISD's secondary campuses.

Jana Rolling has been named the Executive Director of School Leadership for elementary campuses in Sheldon ISD. Prior to this appointment, she served as the district's Director of Teaching and Learning after leading Sheldon Elementary as principal, where her visionary leadership earned her the honor of 2023–2024 Sheldon ISD Elementary Principal of the Year. Under her leadership, the campus achieved exceptional academic success, earning a TEA Distinction Designation and recognition as both an AVID Showcase Campus and a Dr. Jay Cummings Demonstration Campus. Mrs. Rolling's extensive experience also includes serving as a campus assistant principal, district elementary math curriculum coordinator, math and science instructional coach, and classroom teacher. In her new role, Mrs. Rolling's proven commitment to instructional excellence and developing campus leaders will continue to strengthen elementary schools across Sheldon ISD.

Dr. Denise Mustin has been named the Executive Director of School Leadership for early childhood campuses in Sheldon ISD. Prior to this appointment, she served as the district's Director of Early Childhood and principal of Cravens Early Childhood Academy, where she led innovative early learning initiatives that have become a model for excellence. A proud graduate of C.E. King High School, Dr. Mustin has been recognized as the 2021–2022 Sheldon ISD Principal of the Year and the 2024 Texas Association for the Education of Young Children (TXAEYC) Administrator of the Year. A passionate advocate for high-quality early childhood education, she is committed to advancing developmentally appropriate practices, strengthening executive function skills, promoting play-based learning, and supporting educators in creating engaging learning environments. In her new role, Dr. Mustin will provide leadership and support to the district's early childhood campuses and the early learning center while continuing to champion student success from the very beginning of each child's educational journey.
