Sheldon Elementary Awarded National Science Teaching Association & Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge Honor

Sheldon Elementary has been selected as a regional winner in the Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge, sponsored by Shell USA, Inc. and administered by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA). This recognition brings a $15,000 science lab makeover support package to the campus, providing new tools and resources that will elevate hands-on science learning for students.
The award was earned through an innovative lab experience proposal submitted by former Sheldon Elementary science teacher Ms. Glover. After her departure to another district, Ms. West has taken the lead in bringing the winning vision to life on campus. She is overseeing the implementation of the science lab upgrade and will continue guiding students as they investigate real-world scientific phenomena, ask meaningful questions, collaborate, and build deep scientific understanding.
This recognition is a major win for Sheldon Elementary students and strengthens the school’s commitment to providing rich, inquiry-driven science learning experiences for every child.
