Sheldon Early College High School welcomes Class of 2029

Photo collage of students and parents enjoying the Early College High School Pinning ceremony 2025

Approximately 127 Sheldon ISD middle school students were initiated into Early College High School during a pinning ceremony on April 3. The ECHS allows them to graduate with an associate degree from San Jacinto College, free of cost. By 2029, these students will have the opportunity to graduate with both their high school diploma and an associate degree from San Jacinto College.

Sheldon ISD is proud to offer a TEA-designated Early College High School.  Sheldon ECHS serves students in grades 9 – 12 and is a school within a school located on the C. E. King High School campus.  In partnership with San Jacinto College, ECHS offers students nine degree plans to choose from.  Students at ECHS have the opportunity to earn an endorsement, a distinguished level of achievement diploma, a performance acknowledgement, and up to 60 college credit hours within four years of high school. More photos of the event can be found on our District Facebook Album.
