Principals of the Year 2024-25

Sheldon ISD announces Mrs. Maria Vives as the Elementary Principal of the Year and Dr. Jillian Howard as the Secondary Principal of the Year. Mrs. Vives has led Cravens Early Childhood Academy as principal since 2021. Previously she served in Pasadena ISD since 2002 as an assistant principal, instructional specialist, dual language coordinator and a first-grade bilingual teacher. Prior to her work in Houston, she worked as a first-grade teacher in Colombia. Dr. Jillian Howard has been the principal of C.E. King High School since 2023. Previously she served in Galena Park since 2015 in multiple roles including assistant principal, associate principal of curriculum and instruction and most recently deputy principal. She has also served in Clear Creek ISD as a bilingual elementary teacher and Spanish Pre AP teacher at the Clear Horizons Early College High School. In 2014, she was named the Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year. Both Mrs. Vives and Dr. Howard will represent Sheldon ISD in the Region 4 Principal of the Year competition.
