The C.E. King High School's King's Court Theatre Company achieved unprecedented success at the recent Texas Thespians State Festival, a competition overseen by the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).

In only their second year attending the state conference, the KHS troupe saw significant results in "The Thespys," which are performance and technical theatre student competitions. Of the nine KHS students who competed, five earned National Qualifying status, securing their spots to compete at the International Thespians Society (ITS) national conference this summer.

Remarkably, three of the National Qualifiers were within 0.3 points of achieving perfect scores. In total, the troupe earned six distinctions, including one Improviser Challenge All-Star award.

"This success is a testament to the dedication and talent of our students," said Mr. Pfannstiel, Director of Fine Arts for Sheldon ISD.

The King's Court Theatre Company continues to elevate the standard for theatre arts within the district under the directorship of Mrs. Schaefer.
