KHS senior named to TMEA All State Choir
Arielle Monuma-Antoine, a member of the C.E. King High School Choir will perform with the Texas All-State Treble Choir in San Antonio, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.
Arielle Monuma-Antoine was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels. Arielle Monuma-Antoine sings at C.E. King High School under the direction of Taylor G. Surratt and Cryselle Cruz, who are members of the Texas Music Educators Association, a 14,000+ member organization headquartered in Austin. This is Arielle Monuma-Antoine’s first time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. Arielle Monuma-Antoine is the child of Claude Monuma. She is one of two students in the history of King High School to be named to the All-State Choir.
High school students selected to perform in the All-State concerts have competed through auditions to qualify at the state level. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. 1,875 students are selected through a process that began with over 70,000 students from around the state vying for this honor to perform in one of 18 ensembles.
A special congratulations to C.E. King High School band students oboe player, senior Santiago Cruz, tuba player, sophomore Kadyn Henry and tenor, sophomore Nicholas Montelongo for participating in the Area audition round which is the final step in the All-State selection process.
