The Houston Area Association for Bilingual Education (HAABE) recognizes outstanding bilingual and ESL educators from Houston and its surrounding areas. The district surprised five individuals who were selected by the multilingual department and voted on by their peers. Congratulations to:
- Bilingual Teacher of the Year- Lizeth Montelongo- Cravens ECA
- ESL Elementary Teacher of the Year- Laura Austin- Cravens ECA
- ESL Secondary Teacher of the Year- Mayra Gonzalez- CE King Middle School
- World Languages Teacher of the Year- Viannys Medina-Kim- C.E. King High School
- Leadership Champion Award- Richard Peña- CE King Middle School
