District Spelling Bee Winners Crowned

The atmosphere was filled with focus and determination as Sheldon ISD hosted its annual District Spelling Bee. The event brought together the top spellers from every elementary and middle school in the district, each competing for the chance to represent Sheldon at the regional level. Having already secured victories at their home campuses, these students demonstrated elite literacy skills, composure, and academic dedication throughout several rigorous rounds of competition.
Sheldon ISD is proud to announce the top three performers from the 2026 District Spelling Bee:
- 1st Place (District Champion): Niko Martinez – Garrett Elementary School
- 2nd Place: Naia Iniguez – Sheldon Elementary School
- 3rd Place: Melissa Jimenez – C.E. King Middle School
As the first-place winner, Niko Martinez will officially represent Sheldon ISD at the Houston Community College Regional Scripps Spelling Bee in March 2026. This prestigious competition brings together the most talented spellers from throughout the Greater Houston area.
