Sheldon ISD wishes to share a massive congratulations to our very own Coach Laxen for being named the Houston Chronicle’s inaugural High School Coach of the Year!
Talk about an instant impact. In his first season, Coach Laxen guided the Panthers from a 5-5 campaign in 2024 to an incredible 13-3 record and the program’s first-ever appearance in a state championship game. Now, with back-to-back state appearances in his first two years, his remarkable turnaround has completely reset expectations for our east-side program!
We are incredibly proud of his leadership and dedication to our student-athletes on and off the turf. This honor is well-deserved!
