More than 13,100 additional square feet has been added to the building

Classrooms feature thematic designs bringing real life experiences to the classroom. You’ll see the different themes within the classrooms, from market to farming, students are able to learn through a museum exhibit concept for hands-on learning. Our classrooms at Sheldon Early Childhood Academy also have this feature that is new this year as well.
A new comprehensive high school accommodating 3,000-3,500 students will replace the current C.E. King High School to help accommodate the district’s growing population. The previous building that served as C.E.King High School has been converted into King Middle School at the start of the 2020-21 school year.
The new high school is 500,070 square feet and includes include the latest in safety and security measures and infrastructure to support 21st century education. There are common spaces to eat and study and the classrooms encompass collaborative project-based learning setting. The school is designed with Sheldon's mission to personalize learning to prepare students for college and a career. The school provides a collegiate atmosphere and holds spaces for dual credit students to dive in to hands-on activities including a cosmetology salon, media studio, culinary arts facilities with a kitchen, welding program, and auto body shop. Additionally, the school includes state of the art gymnasiums, a performing arts center that seats 800 and a two-story library.
Sheldon Lake Elementary opened in August 2019 as the district’s sixth elementary campus. The building is approximately 88,000-square feet and includes a black box theater that converts from classroom to performance space, an art studio, music studio, dance studio and design studio. The educational opportunities are as unique as the architecture as the building was designed with an emphasis on performing arts (music, arts, dance, and drama) and is one of the district’s Compass Schools.
Panther Stadium opened prior to the 2019-20 school year. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 and sports artificial turf on the field, a video board and sound system, interactive displays in each of the dressing rooms, plenty of parking spaces, and a multi-level press box.
The new indoor facility, a 70-yard turf field, serves as a practice field for football and soccer, and other sports as needed. The athletic complex includes turf baseball and softball fields and a track stadium separate from the football stadium with a 100 yard turf practice field.
