Documents You Need to Enroll
Make sure to have each of these documents ready electronically to upload during the enrollment process. Your child’s application cannot be processed without each of these documents.
Proof of Residency within Sheldon ISD boundaries:
Current utility bill with service address of residence and name of parent/guardian enrolling the student (must be gas, water or electric bill)
If the name on bill is not on the Birth Certificate or other Legal documents listed above, more documents may be required, such as a marriage license or second parent ID.
Driver’s license or official picture ID
Driver’s license or official picture ID of parent with current address that matches the utility bill service address
Proof of Parenthood or Guardianship (one of the following)
- Birth Certificate with Parent listed
- Legal court certified and signed Custody documents
- Legal court certified and signed guardianship or DFPS Placement documents
Original Birth Certificate
Child's Social Security Card
Immunization Record- Current & Complete
School Records from the Last School
- Report Card
- Transcript
- Test Scores
Pre-K Students Only: Proof Of Income
Documentation of last 30 days of income.
Pre- K students must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025.
Shared Residency
Parents and children living with another family must apply for Shared Residency. The parent AND owner or leaseholder must complete and sign an Affidavit of Residency in the presence of a district employee. The Affidavit is a formal, sworn statement by both parties.
The owner or leaseholder must bring a current utility bill with their name and the service address of the residence. They must also provide a driver’s license with their name and address that match the utility bill.
AND
In order to complete your registration process under a Shared Residency you must provide a Driver’s License with the same address as the residence and two (2) current documents from the four (4) following categories OR three (3) current documents from the following four (4) categories.
- Documents from employer, such as a paycheck stub with address listed, personnel papers, tax form, and withholding statements;
- A voter’s registration card mailed to the enrolling party at the address identified as a residence;
- Insurance papers issued in the name of the enrolling party;
- Bills and/or statements from a bank, credit union, department store, Gasoline Company, or a major credit card company
