The following links below encourages boards of trustees/governing boards, administrators, teachers, and parents to participate in the process for adopting rules that affect public education in Texas. It will also assist in complying with the requirements of Texas Education Code (TEC), §39.001, which requires the commissioner of education to solicit input from stakeholders who may be affected by proposed rules adopted under TEC, Chapter 39, Public School System Accountability.

As part of this outreach effort, TEA has developed new electronic forms to help stakeholders submit public comments on proposed rules. A form for commenting on proposed commissioner of education and SBOE rules and a separate form for commenting on proposed SBEC rules are available on the web pages listed above.
TEA has also provided a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to answer questions you may have on the public comment process for proposed rulemaking. Current Manor ISD Executive Director of Student Services and Safety Dr. Keith Brooks was named the new C. E. King High School Principal and Executive Director of Secondary Education at May 15 Sheldon ISD School Board meeting in the Ney Administration Boardroom.
Dr. Brooks will be replacing Dr. Demetrius McCall who has accepted a position as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
District to conduct compliance check at Null Middle School
This morning, a compliance check will be taking place at Null Middle School at approximately 8:05 a.m. today.
During the compliance check, students will be checked for prohibitive items by staff members, and law enforcement will be on hand and part of the process.
Compliance checks are administered randomly throughout the school year.
The Urban Affairs Committee will meet in the Sheldon Independent School District Board Meeting Room, Donald Ney Administration Building, to hear invited and public testimony regarding short- and long-term housing needs and related issues resulting from Hurricane Harvey and associated flooding.
C. E. King High School senior track and field athlete Joey Doak has earned Sheldon ISD’s first state championship medal in Class 6A after placing first overall in the shot put event at Saturday’s University Interscholastic League State Track and Field Meet in Austin.
Joey also took home bronze medals in both the 100- and 400-meter wheelchair events at the state meet.

The C.E. King High School Varsity Wind Ensemble earned a UIL Sweepstakes Award for the first time since moving up to conference 6A this past year! Sweepstakes are awarded for performing ensembles that earn top ratings at Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading Contests throughout the year.
Mike Monsive, President and CEO of ASAP Securities, met with several representatives from various local school districts today at the Sheldon ISD Network Operations Center to discuss gunshot detection and other innovative forms of safety and security offerings for school systems.
Sheldon ISD is offering C.E. King High School students an opportunity to earn additional academic credits this summer in a self-paced online program The King Summer Academy will grant students more flexibility during the academic school year for electives/extracurricular activities.
Congratulations to the C. E. King High School Varsity Mixed Choir for receiving a plaque for earning a "1" rating on stage at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading competition last week.
