Sheldon ISD’s martial arts students from all four after school programs (Monahan Elementary, Carroll Elementary, Garrett Elementary and Sheldon Elementary) participated in the district’s first Martial Arts Tournament on Saturday, April 2, 2016. The tournament took place at the C. E. King High School Competition Gym.

Earlier this month, the KHS AFJROTC students stopped by Carroll Elementary to visit with the students. They spoke to them about their award-winning programs and much more. The students learned how and why discipline and hard work play an important role in the program. The AFJRTOC even performed some impressive drills for the students.
On Thursday March 10, 2016 the Gifted and Talented Elementary students held their annual Expo. The students presented their research projects. The projects covered topics such as Pursuit of Passion, Inventions, City of the Future and Biographies of Famous People. The event was held at Carroll Elementary with over 200 people attending.
