Sheldon ISD was well represented at the February North Channel Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. It was the first luncheon of the year for new Chairman, Dr. Vickey M. Giles. Not to mention, a teacher and two of our students were honored at the event!
NMS teacher, Brandi Flaherty was also recognized. Flaherty was nominated for her work with autistic students. According to her principal, Becky Zalesnik, Flaherty is a miracle worker! “I cannot express to you what she has done for the autistic students that have been given to her and also for their families. She not only dedicates herself to each child’s needs but to their parent’s needs as well,” said Zalesnik. “Each year she has our campus participate in the Autism Walk of Houston and this past year she had a district parent meeting, acquired a bus, and arranged for over 70 people to travel to Reliant Stadium and participate in the Autism Walk together. She’s simply a great teacher!”
Congratulations to all of our Sheldon ISD honorees!
