About Your Counselor…
Prior to my current position as a school counselor here at Carroll, I taught for nineteen years, mostly in Pasadena I.S.D. I have worked with grades Pre-K through sixth grade as a classroom teacher and also worked with Title 1 Reading, pull-out ESL, dyslexia, and intervention. I graduated from the University of La Verne’s European Division in Naples, Italy with my Associate’s degree. Next, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in San Antonio. I immediately started teaching upon graduation. Some time later, when my own kids became more independent, I attended graduate school and obtained my Master’s degree in School Administration from Lamar University in Beaumont. Shortly after, I continued on to earn another Master's degree there in Counseling. I am a life-long learner through and through! This world has so much to teach us all. Embrace the journey!
I love helping kids and cannot imagine working anywhere other than in a school setting. I love the unexpected responses, and especially love the "ah-ha" moments when kids figure "IT" out, with or without guidance. I am so happy to be here at Carroll Elementary in Sheldon I.S.D and consider myself so blessed to be a part of your child’s life. Together, I am certain we can make a difference.
Please come by and see me soon!
