Dr. Vickey M. Giles
Dr. Giles holds a doctorate from the University of Houston in the area of Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, she holds a master's degree in education from Stephen F. Austin, a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and an associate’s degree from Lee College. She spent the first twelve years of her education career in Crosby ISD as a secondary English teacher, an elementary music teacher, and a high school assistant principal. She came to Sheldon ISD as the Dean of Instruction at C.E. King High School. Dr. Giles has also taught both undergraduate and graduate classes in children’s literature at the University of Houston. She recently completed three years as a column editor for Voices from the Middle, a National Council of Teachers of English publication and is currently past-president of the Greater Houston Area Reading Council. ![]() Sandra Matthieu, a longtime employee of the district and an alumnus of C. E. King High School, serves as the secretary to the Superintendent as well as the secretary to the Board of Trustees. She also serves the district as the election supervisor, handling school board and bond elections.
