Social Skills

The students are taught social skills through the Boys Town Program. This program is researched based and has proven to be effective. The students learn these skills in guidance lessons by learning what to do and then practicing them. The teachers and administrators also use the social skills. Please practice the social skills with you child in every day situations. These social skills are skills they can use for the rest of their lives both inside and outside the classroom. The social skills are:  Introducing Yourself Greeting Others Following Directions Reporting to the Teacher Getting the Teacher's Attention Saying "No" Accepting "No" Offering to Help Giving Criticism Accepting Criticism Talking with Others Asking for What You Want Disagreeing Appropriately Giving Compliments Accepting Compliments Saying I'm Sorry |
