Credentials: Master of Science in Education Management from The University of Houston at Clear Lake.  Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Environmental Studies from Indiana University.  State Board certified as an Education Manager and Classroom Teacher.

Mr. Applegate has served Sheldon ISD as a school administrator for the past eight years.  He has served four years at C. E. King Middle School as an Assistant Principal, two years as the Principal of Sheldon Sixth Grade Campus (now the new Sheldon Early Childhood Academy), and is now serving as the Academy Principal for Ninth Grade at C. E. King High School (Excel Academy). 

Mr. Applegate has also worked a combined five years as a Science and Mathematics teacher at W. C. Cunningham Middle School and Green Valley Elementary School in Galena Park ISD. 

Mr. Applegate serves as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve.
