  • 2012-2013 Teachers of the Year

    2013 Teachers of the Year

    Laura Moreno of Royalwood Elementary has been named Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Bonita Taylor of C.E. King High School has been named Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Sheldon Independent School District.

    Ms. Moreno has been in education for five years. She currently teaches fourth grade at Royalwood Elementary. Ms. Taylor came to Sheldon ISD from the business world. She became a teacher in 2007, and found her home at C.E. King High School.

    Laura Moreno and Bonita Taylor will represent Sheldon ISD in the 2013 Region IV Education Service Center Teacher of the Year competition. Each district in Texas selects two nominees to compete for the title of Texas Teacher of the Year.

    Sheldon ISD campus Teachers of the Year for Sheldon ISD include: Lauren Hobbs, Early College High School; Kristi Parlato, Null Middle School; Earnest Moore, King Middle School; Heath Dear, Sheldon Elementary; Micah Bachemin, Carroll Elementary; Maggie Gonzales, Monahan Elementary; Lori Meador, Garrett Elementary; Leah Bell, Sheldon Early Childhood Academy and Rachel Dunn, Stephanie Cravens Early Childhood Academy.

    EKG Memorial Hermann is offering free EKG Screening for SISD athletes on June 8th at Memorial Hermann NE, from 8am – 11am.

  • Lady Panthers State Track Meet

    Lady Panthers 4x200

    Congratulations to our KHS Lady Panthers for a great showing at the UIL state track meet in Austin.

    The 4x200 meter relay team finished in second place!

    The team consists of: Kristina Carter, Trashauna Hardy, Brandi Dobbin and Tramesha Hardy.

    Tramesha Hardy also finished in eighth place in the 100 meter dash.


    Zandra Emanuael and Alazia Jones served as the alternates.

  •  Autism Awareness Month

    Sheldon ISD is painting the district blue for Autism Awareness Month. Employees around the district are wearing blue shirts to honor those affected by the disorder. Many campuses have also participated in fundraisers and projects to help raise awareness of autism.

  • H.E.B. Recognizes Sheldon ISD & SECA

    Congratulations to Sheldon ISD and the Sheldon Early Childhood Academy for being selected as semi-finalists for the 2013 H.E.B. Excellence in Education awards!

    The district was one of 30 districts chosen as a semi-finalist out of hundreds of applicants. Sheldon ISD was given $1,000.00 in H.E.B. gift cards for this accomplishment.

    The Sheldon Early Childhood Academy was one of 21 early childhood providers chosen as a semi-finalist across the state. That campus received a $500 gift card.

    In February, Cravens Early Childhood Academy teacher, Norma Cotten, was selected as a finalist for the H.E. B. individual educator award.

    Way to go, Sheldon ISD!!
